Good Bike!

My son has been riding this bike for a few months now and is loving it. No issues so far. Just wish it had internally routed cables.

Great solid bike for kids who show talent on their hardtails

My kid loves it, could have gone with a better fork to something better because we've had issues but otherwise it's been pretty solid. Would recommend buying the Reaper 26 and purchasing 24s as it's better specs and your most likely going to be customizing it with you kid anyway then just pop the 26's on when they outgrow the 24's. Parts are cheap to replace and he's had fun upgrading it as his truck washing and chore allowance have come in. All in all the reaper platform is the best bike for kids who are showing talent on their crappy hardtails. I even took it for a little rip down floppy and that thing is fun. I looked like a jackwagon but I had to test his wheel building skills.

Poor components on a good bike

I got my son this bike when he grew out of his Norco 20". I like the bike, and I like that I can upgrade to the 26" later on without changing the frame. Unfortunately like so many manufacturers of kids bikes Rocky Mtn skimped on the components. The suntour front fork, and their attempt at a quick connect through axle has caused no end of headaches. I think that most parents who are buying full suspension bikes for little kids understand the importance of quality components and would be willing to spend the few extra dollars to get a fork from a quality brand that has a functional through axle. They also do not include tubeless ready rims, which is another disappointment, kids these days are riding as hard as their parents and deserve to have bike options that reflect their skills.
