Great hardtail

I’m primarily a road cyclist, but like to mix it up to keep things interesting. I have a Solo 50 for gravel rides and it’s been a great bike, so Rocky Mountain came to mind when I was looking to get an MTB. I wanted 27.5 wheels and a 1X drivetrain, so the Soul 10 was one of the few choices out there, and I’m not disappointed. It handles the twisty, technical single track that I ride very well. The trails I ride are pretty tight and the 27.5 wheels handle great. The fork has plenty of travel and soaks up roots and rocks nicely. And, the bike climbs pretty well. For the price point, it does what I need it to do just fine and is a great value compared to a Merlin or Rockhopper.

Great bike with 2 upgrades

From what I saw looking around at this price, you really cant get much better, I've had this bike for around 3 weeks now and I love almost everything about it. The shocks are great and handle rocks, tree roots, and features quite well, the derailer is great, I've had no issues with it shifting up and down frequently. The 2 upgrades I plan on doing with this bike is a dropper post and new pedals and cranks. The seat post stock is just fine - its just a regular quick release post with a solid saddle. And the pedals and cranks are also fine stock but the pedals are plastic with some semi ugly reflectors on them and the cranks are just a weird feeling on my legs; very well could be just me who doesn't like them. Either way this bike is probably one of the best for the 900$ price tag.
