Rechargeable fun
I have had this bike 5 winter months and put 1000kms on it.
-15C to -20C are typical winter temps to ride in. I tried it a -35C for kicks. The manual says the battery will shut down if it senses internal battery temp at -20C, to protect itself. This never occurred, or seemed to come close to happening. My rides can last 3 hours, though most are 1 hour…..the -35 ride was 30 minutes.
The bike does a good job of informing you, via display, about battery temp. Over the entire winter I have had three warnings (-5C battery temp), none affected performance, that I could tell. This lets you know you should warm up the bike before recharging.
100% of riding is on trails, single track or snowmachine trail. I did put a suspension fork on it, because I like jumps and drops.
This is a fun bike to ride. It has lots of power, and the battery lasts a long time ( I mostly use assist level 1 and 2 ). I love using Ludicrous Mode to crush hills with impunity, but it is not unpleasant to pedal with NO assist either. I frequently do 10km through easy, rolling terrain, with no assist. There is nothing magical about this, it pedals like you would expect a 25 kg bike to pedal. Great for leg-days though.
