Great bike with some issues
I have over 5000 miles on the 2019 RM Altitude PP and jumped right into the new 2022 model when it was released. The bike and geometry are very nice and confidence inspiring. I currently have over 1500 miles on the new model and waited a long time before writing this review. Coming from the previous model I felt very comfortable right away. My main gripe is with the new updated motor. Yes all the things people say about needing to put in more to get more are true and were one of the characteristics that I liked. However, the new model has a major issue with overheating. I have worked with RM directly, both with the sales and tech side to try and resolve this issue. After multiple motors, controllers, and trying different bikes, the conclusion was that I was riding the bike wrong (apparently) in the wrong cadence, even though this is how I road the old bike. To appease them I changed the way I road the bike keeping it at a higher cadence than I normal ride at and still experience the overheating issue if the bike was being pushed hard. It got even worse as the ambient temperature outside got hotter. If it was 90+ Fahrenheit outside I would get the overheating message and loose power after 15-20 mins and not be able to keep up with my buddies. I never, not once experienced this issue on the old bike / motor. I am not able to get close to the old bikes times on the new bike which is a downgrade if you ask me. I tried bringing this up in the forums and you just get…
